sankalp creative ventures

Sankalp Creative Ventures is an India based organization which primarily focuses on empowering women and encouraging entrepreneurship. Since 2009, we have been working towards enriching the lives of people with whom we are connected, and helping them enhance their skills and passions by providing a lot of opportunities which would enable them to empower themselves, thereby propelling their overall growth.

The fascinating journey of Sankalp began in 2009, when it was launched in Palakkad, a small town in Kerala, with a view to empower women through creative entrepreneurship.

Sankalp is not just an organization. Over the years, it has got to become a strong movement with an even stronger intention of enriching and enhancing the lives of people.
Sankalp exhibitions are a much looked forward event in Kerala by both vendors and visitors alike. As a vendor, the participant gets myriad opportunities to not just to display and sell their products, but also to avail the benefits of large scale networking, which goes a long way in establishing brand names in the long run.

Our Exhibitions

Sankalp is a well-known brand in Kerala, known primarily for it’s exhibitions. Launched in 2009, our ‘Crafts’n Weaves’ series of exhibitions are specifically tailored to encourage the entrepreneurial dreams of women in particular by offering them a solid platform to showcase their handmade or sourced out products, and also a provide numerous opportunities to interact directly with their target audience so as to enable them to taste success in their own terms.

Sankalp’s Regalia series of luxury lifestyle exhibitions is mainly intended to pamper those visitors whose preference zeroes down to nothing but the finest. Through Regalia, we bring the best in fashion and style, where you can shop comfortably amidst luxurious settings of the finest hotels in top tier cities across the country.

Since our launch in 2009, more than 1000 women from all walks of life have associated with the Sankalp movement successfully. Many of them have moved ahead with confidence to carve their own success stories in the world of entrepreneurship which include boutiques, eateries, craft classes, online establishments and even their own TV shows!

Our culture is closely linked with our art and crafts, and we at Sankalp believe in empowering artisans and craftspeople through our exhibitions, by providing them spaces whereby they can directly connect with visitors and ultimately be benefitted economically without the threat of being exploited by middlemen.

A unique factor seen in Sankalp exhibitions is the sense of camaraderie and a spirit of oneness among the participants which remains nurtured throughout each event, leading to healthy interaction that helps in creating a friendly and harmonious space filled with fun, laughter and gaiety.

Sankalp – Our social commitment

We at Sankalp strongly believe in giving back our bit to the community in whatever way we can. As an organization filled with individuals who are well aware of our social responsibilities, we certainly do our bit to help out the underprivileged by extending a helping hand. Every edition of Sankalp exhibition sees a few stalls being allotted to deserving individuals/self help groups/NGOs free of cost with the intention of helping them gain a foothold in life and further their economic prospects.

Our Workshops

As an organization which believes in the empowerment of women, we understand the importance of providing opportunities that will aid in the enhancement of skills in every level and age. Along with learning a particular skill which would help in promoting innovation and creativity, it has been proved beyond doubt that such trysts with art and craft are also beneficial in boosting self-esteem as well as enhancing decision making skills. With this intention in mind, we have created the junior and senior creative workshop series where we would be reaching out to both children and adults alike.

filmfest

There are very few women who work behind the camera in the film industry, not because of the lack of talent or creativity, but due to very little opportunities to encourage their creative expression. The Sankalp Short Film Festival (SSFF2015) was organized in June 2015, with an intention to encourage more women talents in this particular field. SSFF 2015 was held with the purpose of encouraging women to don the roles of directors, producers, script writers, editors, cinematographers, or part of the technical crew.

The festival saw about 75 entries from all over India, out of which the best 20 movies were screened at the Don Bosco Image, Kochi. Cash prizes of Rs. 1 Lakh were awarded to the winners.
